Deb Rubin, MA, CMT, RYT, is an internationally-acclaimed teacher/performer of tribal fusion belly dance, emerging from the vibrant, world-reknown San Francisco Bay Area scene--the mecca of where it all began.  Coined The Queen of Slink for her captivating performance style that gracefully blends the roots of ancient gypsy spirit with art nouveau charm & contemporary glitch, she is honored to have shared the stage with musical inspirations like: Balkan Beat Box, Desert Dwellers, David Starfire, Shpongle, Karsh Kale, Eskmo, Lynx&Janover, Emancipator, as well as her solo work. She is also creative director of Project Merkaba Dance Co. 

A holistic health counselor, integrative body worker, somatic coach, & a longtime student and teacher of Yoga, her teachings are infused with a deep embodiment of the divine feminine, and somatic approach to accessing and moving from the depths of our core, empowering the radiance within, & bridging yoga off mat, into dance, onto stage, and into artful living, as a pathway for awakening the embodied divine feminine.  She is honored to have co-taught, danced, and recently collaborated with Shiva Rea as part of Shiva’s Shakti Sadhana series.  

Founder of SattyaBody Women’s Health,  & SF Mecca Immersion retreat into the heart&soul of San Francisco Tribal, Deb currently teaches workshops/retreats around the globe, fusing yoga, tribal fusion, performance artistry, and therapeutics. Deb was named "The Best Kept Secret in Tribal" by Fuse magazine, 2011.  Her signature Dance Therapeutics Certification program, which fused the ancient wisdom of Yoga with leading-edge somatics and fascial research to unwind the body and empower movement and health practitioners, is now offered in the US, Australia, and Europe. Deb has an MA in Holistic Health Education and focus on Somatics from JFK University, and a BA in Psychology and Pre-Med from Princeton University. She is most influenced by her Yoga studies with Shiva Rea, Gary Kraftsow, Mark Whitwell, & Integrative Yoga Therapy, and is currently in the ERYT-500 path of Shiva Rea's Samudra School of Living Yoga.  With almost 20 yrs. experience working in the field of mind/body medicine, and 30+yrs in dedicated study and performance of dance, Deb is excited to join the Wanderlust team.  For more on Deb, please visit: Or follow on Instagram@bellylady.
